I found vegan fast food! Yes, it does exist (at least in some places). While maybe not the healthiest thing to eat, sometimes you just want something quick and you don’t want to spend a lot of money (especially when you are traveling for an extended period of time). Elevation Burger is a fast food chain with locations in multiple states as well as international in Mexico and the Middle East. I ate at their location in Yonkers at Westchester’s Ridge Hill, a giant shopping complex. They aim to have better quality ingredients and be better for the environment, from the way the food is prepared to how the restaurants are built. That’s a vision I can get behind.I got the veggie burger #2, which states it is vegan right on the menu. I love that there is no guess work involved. According to their website it is made from whole grains and veggies seasoned with organic spices. You choose the toppings you want when you order. The fries are also vegan (cooked in olive oil) and one order was plenty to split between two people. It reminded me a lot of In-N-Out from the limited menu items and presentation of the food. Good burger and fries. I couldn’t try a shake though; they only have regular dairy ice cream. Hopefully they will get some vegan ice cream soon to go with their burger and fries!
