Soong Thai – Ocoee, Florida

Soong Thai is located in a strip mall off Colonial Rd (Hwy 50) in Ocoee. I’ve eaten there a few times now, both dining in and take-out. They serve some fantastic Thai food! While the menu only lists two tofu dishes (Siam Tofu or Amazing Tofu) you can ask for tofu as your protein in any of their entrées. I’ve had the Siam Tofu (a chili sauce with garlic and scallions), Amazing Tofu (a peanut sauce), Pad Thai with tofu and no egg, and most recently their Green Curry with tofu. You can customize your order quite a bit (e.g., you can get all tofu and no veggies or add a particular vegetable that doesn’t normally come with the sauce).  I order all of my meals here mild – order medium or hot at your own risk!

The dining room is fairly small and a nice place to have a meal. The waitresses have been very accommodating and helpful regarding the food. The portion size of the food is generous so you will not leave hungry.

The tofu is pan-fried, so it’s firmer on the outside and soft in the middle. If you don’t like your tofu prepared that way then just get vegetables.

A note on take-out orders: When I’ve ordered for four or more people on the phone usually something isn’t right or has been forgotten. This doesn’t stop me from ordering from Soong Thai, but I would check your order before you leave!
