The Hub Baja Grill is right in the main part of Siesta Key. I’d describe it as Tex-Mex. It’s an energetic spot with live music and outdoor seating. If the music is going, it’s not the place to go for an in depth conversation – it’s loud! 🙂 It’s perfect for a large, maybe somewhat rowdy, group.
There is really only one option for a plant-based meal: the Baja Black Bean Burger. I do not know if it is vegan. The burger came topped with corn tomato & onion salsa, avocado, Cholula sauce and lettuce. It was hearty and a great melding of flavors (I will now be topping black bean burgers at home with Cholula), which was a good thing because it took a LONG time to get our food. The bun was white bread and I’d prefer whole wheat. For the side, you could get a house salad, regular fries or sweet potato fries, so you can eat pretty healthy here and get the salad. The sweet potato fries were my vacation splurge and they were great, crispy and large and not greasy. You could really taste the sweet potato – but yes, they are still fried!
