Tijuana Flats is a fast casual chain restaurant with many locations including Florida, North Carolina, Indiana, Pennsylvania and Virginia. You order at the cash register and someone brings your order to your table – at the location I went to I sat outside as it was pretty busy and noisy inside. The view in the Cary, NC location is of a parking lot and Trader Joe’s, but the nice weather compensated for the lack of atmosphere. Given the type of restaurant this is, the atmosphere is really what you would expect. Service was very good; once the servers bring you your meal they check on you periodically to see if you need anything else, like a drink refill.
The restaurant promises fresh food with healthy options available. You can view all their nutrition and allergen information here.

They have a nice salsa bar with a guides to how hot each one is – and hot is very hot!
I decided on the Fresh Norrito Bowl. This is basically a large burrito without the tortilla. Ingredients include light salsa based rice, black beans, hand-made pico, fresh guacamole & green onions & served in a bowl. I added a mildly hot salsa and devoured the entire bowl.
Other menu options you can customize are burritos, chimichangas, quesadillas, enchiladas, tacos, and flautas. Tijuana Flats is a great option for a quick and healthy Mexican meal.
