We were looking for a a place for dinner with a fun atmosphere plus outside seating to accommodate our dog and our friends’ dog. We found what we needed at Jalapeños Mexican Grill. Jalapeños is a small chain in the Savannah area. We dined at their Richmond Hill location.
We had no trouble sitting outside with our furry friends and the setting was great for a dinner with friends and good margaritas. Dan had the Black Bean burrito without cheese or sour cream. It was a very large portion and comes with typical Spanish rice and refried beans. Maybe it was because they didn’t have cheese, but the burritos had a very strong onion flavor and a lot of lettuce. I didn’t care for them, but I also don’t like a lot of onion in my food.
I had the Veggie Fajitas with corn rather than flour tortillas. They fajitas were great, very flavorful. A word advice: ask for no cheese or sour cream on your sides or you won’t be able to eat all the lettuce, tomatoes, and beans that come with the fajitas. The fajitas also come standard with refried beans, so ask to sub black or pinto beans instead for a healthier option.
Jalapeños Mexican Grill serves up pretty standard Mexican fare but has a great plant-based option with their Veggie Fajitas.
